Lauren Schmidt, CEO and chief scientist. Lauren has a background in computational cognitive science and psycholinguistics research (she likes learning, thinking, and speaking about speaking, thinking, and learning). She has extensive experience with experiment design and implementation, both online and in the lab. She also has far too much experience with the frustrations that can accompany online research design and participant recruitment. Thanks to her own research background, she has spent a lot of time writing about hour-long bananas and the gender of toasters.

Hilary Mason, chief technical officer. Hilary is a former computer science professor with a background in machine learning, data mining, and web applications. She is widely published and regularly speaks at academic and industry conferences, and recently realized her dream of delivering a talk on algorithms while drinking a dry ice martini. She is an enthusiastic developer and often releases code on her personal site, www.hilarymason.com. She has discovered two new species, loves to bake cookies, and asks way too many questions.

Liz Mason, chief business officer. Liz is an non-stereotypical Certified Public Accountant (CPA), in that she retains her creativity. She has been in every room of a casino and counted over $10 million in cash (at one time). She is inherently curious, loves a good challenge and is never satisfied with the status quo. Her background has given her experience with many industries from casinos to technology. She loves teaching and presenting almost any topic and regularly volunteers to do it. She paints, writes, skis and snowboards, reads a lot, and strongly believes in new research.
